A sporting organisation in Western Australia is looking for an Event and Commercial Manager to plan and deliver major sporting events, from the first planning meeting to the final whistle on event day. The job pairs leading events with building partnerships, thinking commercially and managing stakeholders.
You will need to stay calm under pressure, make confident calls during live events and be happy to work in Western Australia, with the odd weekend and long event day. Candidates who are organised, accountable and commercially aware, and who like to own an event from start to finish, will stand out.

Key Responsibilities
- Run major sporting events end to end, from early planning through to final delivery
- Keep sponsors, partners, suppliers, contractors, volunteers and other stakeholders on side
- Grow productive commercial and community partnerships
- Support sponsorship activation and hunt for new partnership opportunities
- Find ways to lift participation, revenue, event quality and the stakeholder experience
- Organise staff, volunteers, contractors, logistics and event-day operations
- Team up with marketing on event promotion and communication
- Back up Race Directors in delivering State Series and Championship events
- Lead on the ground and make confident decisions during live events
- Keep deadlines, resources, logistics and competing priorities under control, and fix operational issues practically
- Contribute to strategic projects that support organisational growth, using proven event management knowledge to keep improving delivery
Requirements & Eligibility
- Professional event management (or related) experience that you can demonstrate
- Events you have coordinated and delivered, with ownership taken and practical outcomes achieved
- Skilled at building relationships and communicating clearly
- Hands-on dealings with sponsors, partners, suppliers or other external stakeholders
- A commercial outlook, with a feel for revenue and business growth
- Planning, organisation and attention to detail at an excellent level
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving, even in fast-paced, high-pressure settings
- A confident leadership style, and willing to get hands-on
- A strong focus on the experience of customers, members and the community
- Able to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Flexible about occasional weekends and extended event hours
- Relevant event management experience is essential
- Willingness to work in Western Australia
