Cookie Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Good news first: JobsAbroad Malaysia does not set any cookies of its own, and there are no analytics, advertising or tracking tools on the site. Below we list exactly what does get stored in your browser and which services from other companies can load while you browse.

1. A quick guide to browser storage

This policy covers cookies and the other ways a website can keep data on your device:

  • Cookies are small text files a site saves and receives back with later visits.
  • sessionStorage belongs to one browser tab and is wiped when the tab closes.
  • localStorage and IndexedDB keep data until it is removed.

2. What the public site stores

Exactly one item, and no cookies:

  • chunk_reload_at (sessionStorage). A timestamp that lets the page reload itself once if we publish an update while you have it open. It contains nothing personal and disappears when you close the tab.

It is there so you do not get stuck on a broken page right after an update. It is not used to recognise you or follow you around the web.

3. What the staff admin page stores

Only our team uses the hidden admin page. When a staff member signs in there:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google) keeps the sign-in session in IndexedDB or localStorage;
  • the staff member's sign-in email address is kept in localStorage.

These keep our team logged in. If you never visit the admin page, none of them are created on your device.

4. Services that can load on our pages

  • Google Fonts. Our typefaces are downloaded from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details.
  • Video thumbnails. When we feature YouTube Shorts, their preview images load from i.ytimg.com. If no videos are shown, that section stays hidden and nothing is fetched.
  • The YouTube player. It loads from youtube-nocookie.com only after you tap a video. After that, YouTube may store data under Google's policies.
  • WhatsApp links and share buttons. These do nothing until you tap them.
  • Websites we link to. Government websites and the other websites we link to (Build AI CV, Talent Tabloid and Skills Assessment Australia) use their own cookies under their own policies once you visit them.

5. No consent pop-up

Because there are no analytics, ad pixels or tracking scripts on JobsAbroad Malaysia, there is nothing to ask your permission for. That is why you will not see a cookie banner here.

6. Managing it yourself

  • Clear or block site data in your browser's privacy settings at any time; the public site loses nothing when you do.
  • Private or incognito windows discard their storage once closed.
  • If Google Fonts is blocked, the site falls back to a font already on your device.
  • To keep YouTube from storing anything, simply do not press play; thumbnails do not load the player.
  • With browser storage switched off, the public site still works fully. Only the staff sign-in needs it.

7. If this changes

Should we ever add a cookie or any other stored item, we will list it here and update the date at the top. For how we treat personal information in general, read the Privacy Policy.
