Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Hi, and thanks for checking. This page walks through, in plain English, what JobsAbroad Malaysia (jobsabroad.my) learns about you, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
The quick version: you never need an account to look at jobs, nothing on the site quietly sends us your details, and we only hold your CV or phone number if you sent it to us yourself.
1. Who we are
JobsAbroad Malaysia belongs to Red Migration FZC, a company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We run the site and choose how the information on this page is used, so we are the ones accountable for it. You can reach us at:
- Address: 108, 6th Street, Al Hamriya, Bur Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
- Phone or WhatsApp: +971 50 283 2394
- Email: jobs@jobsabroad.my
2. When you apply by email
Each job has an Apply by email button. Tapping it simply opens the mail app on your phone or laptop with a fresh message addressed to jobs@jobsabroad.my. Our site does not send that email for you, and we see nothing until you press send in your own app.
What goes into the email is up to you. Most people include some of these:
- their name, handphone number and email address;
- a resume, past jobs and references;
- certificates such as SPM, SKM, a diploma or a degree, and any trade licences;
- passport or visa details, only if they decide to add them.
3. When you chat, call or write to us
The Ask on WhatsApp button opens a one-to-one chat with our team. From that moment we can see your WhatsApp profile name, your number and anything you share there, from text and files to photos and voice messages.
Calls and letters work the same way: we learn only what you choose to tell us. You will find every way to reach us on the contact page, which deliberately has no form to fill in.
4. Our WhatsApp job channel
New jobs are also posted to our WhatsApp channel. You follow it inside the WhatsApp app, and that part is handled by WhatsApp and its parent company, Meta, under their own privacy terms. Channel followers receive our posts; following does not start a chat with us.
5. Records created automatically
Like nearly every website, ours produces a few technical records simply by being visited:
- Hosting logs. Google Cloud notes each request your browser makes: your IP address, the user agent string (browser and device type), the page or file requested and the time.
- Rate limiting. Our server briefly keeps IP addresses in memory and counts how many requests each one makes, so a single source cannot overwhelm the site.
We use these to fix problems and protect the site, not to work out who you are.
6. Your searches stay on your device
When you filter jobs or type into the search box, the work is done in the page and the address bar on your side. We do not log those searches against you or build a picture of what you looked at. Apart from one small technical timestamp that helps the page reload cleanly after we update it, the public site stores nothing in your browser. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
7. Sign-in is for staff only
Visitors do not have accounts, passwords or profiles here. The only sign-in is on a hidden admin page our own team uses to post jobs and articles. It runs on Firebase Authentication (part of Google), and only email addresses on our approved staff list are let in.
8. Why we use your information
Here is everything we do with what you send us:
- look at your skills and documents against the job you chose;
- forward your application to the employer behind that job;
- answer your questions on whichever channel you used;
- arrange what comes next, such as an interview or a request for more papers;
- keep the site running safely, using the hosting logs and rate limits;
- meet any legal duty that applies to us.
We do not run analytics, show adverts or profile visitors, so your information is never used for those things.
9. The grounds we rely on
Where a privacy law asks us to name a reason for using your information, these are ours:
- Your consent. You decided to email or message us. You can ask us to stop at any point.
- Getting you closer to a job. Handling an application you started is a step you asked for before a possible employment contract.
- Keeping the lights on. We have a legitimate interest in a site that works properly and is protected from misuse.
- Legal duties. Occasionally a law requires us to keep or hand over information.
11. Countries your information may pass through
You are applying from Malaysia for work in another country, so your details naturally travel. Depending on what you send and which job you go for, they may be handled in:
- the United Arab Emirates, home of Red Migration FZC;
- Singapore, where our Google Cloud server and database are located;
- Australia or New Zealand, where most of the employers are;
- any other country where our email provider, Google or Meta run their systems.
Data protection rules vary between these places. Where a law puts conditions on sending personal data abroad, we lean on the contractual and technical safeguards our providers supply, and we share no more than each purpose needs.
12. How long we keep things
- Emails and chats are kept while your application, the hiring that follows it or a legal requirement still needs them. There is no fixed period. Ask us to delete them whenever you like and we will, unless the law tells us to hold on to something.
- Google Cloud request logs delete themselves after 30 days.
- Rate-limit counts only live in memory for a short time.
13. Keeping it safe
The main protections we have in place:
- all traffic uses HTTPS, and HSTS tells browsers to refuse insecure connections;
- the database cannot be reached directly from the internet, only through our own server;
- the admin page lets in approved staff accounts and nobody else;
- rate limits slow down bots, scrapers and password-guessing attempts.
No system online is completely secure, so a practical tip: keep your IC and passport copies to yourself until an employer or our team actually asks for them.
14. Your rights
Depending on where you live and which law covers the data, you can usually ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it or object to some uses.
UAE
Red Migration FZC is established in the UAE, so the UAE's federal personal data protection law applies where relevant. It gives rights to access, correct and erase personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a portable copy.
Malaysia
Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010, where it applies, gives you rights to access and correct your personal data and to withdraw consent to some processing. Where it covers what we do with your information, we will honour those rights, and you can also raise a concern with Malaysia's data protection regulator.
Other countries
Australia, New Zealand and plenty of other places have privacy laws with similar rights, especially to access and correction. If you rely on one of those laws, we handle your request under it.
15. Making a request
Just email jobs@jobsabroad.my and tell us what you need: a copy, a correction, deletion, an objection or anything else. We may check your identity first so nobody else gets your data. We will reply within the time the applicable law allows, and if we cannot do all of it (for example, because a record must be kept by law) we will explain why.
16. Age limit
JobsAbroad Malaysia is meant for job seekers aged 18 and over. If you believe someone younger has sent us their details, let us know and we will remove them.
17. Websites we link to
The site has links to WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and official immigration websites. In the footer there are also other websites we link to: Build AI CV (buildaicv.com), Talent Tabloid (talenttabloid.com) and Skills Assessment Australia (rpldirect.com.au). Once you are on any of them, their own privacy and cookie policies apply, so it is worth a look before you share personal details. For services that load on our own pages, see the Cookie Policy.
18. Updates to this policy
We revise this page when the site, the services behind it or the law changes, and the date at the top shows the latest version. The version you see here is the one that applies.
