Key Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen each day with the Head Chef, taking full control whenever they are away, and manage the team's hiring below management level, training, rosters and performance
- Plan and produce menus and specials with costing that meets the required gross profit
- Keep cost of goods, wages and gross profit on budget while ordering stock, working with suppliers, counting stock accurately and reducing waste
- Look after food safety, the Food Control Plan and the kitchen's documented systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Level 5 National Diploma in Hospitality (Kitchen Management)
- Minimum of 3 years of kitchen management
- Budgeting know-how
- Food costing skills
- Good organisation and time management
- Outstanding knowledge of food and beverage, local and international
- Comfortable with IT and cloud-based tools including email, Word and Excel
- The right to work in New Zealand
