Key Responsibilities
- Carry produce between the growing and packing sites
- Run and maintain the truck, keeping it clean
- Inspect the truck thoroughly at the start and end of each trip, then report problems
- Check loads before every trip so loads and straps meet National Heavy Vehicle Standards
- Finish all required checks and reporting
- Keep accurate records of produce carried, delivered and returned
- Keep logs and records the way company procedures set out
- Follow all safety guidelines and health and safety policies and procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- A current unrestricted MC licence (essential)
- A High Risk Work Licence (essential)
- Two years of earlier experience driving trucks
- Experience and ability with a manual road ranger transmission
- A strong work ethic and willingness to be hands-on in many kinds of duties
- Ready for a 7-day roster with start times that vary
- Good attention to detail and accurate paperwork
- Knowledge of heavy vehicle laws and regulations, including load restraint, and of basic mechanics and maintenance
- Fresh produce transport, or tautliner and tipper experience, is highly regarded
