Head Chef

Malaysian chefs with Japanese kitchen leadership behind them can now register interest in a Head Chef role in the Sydney CBD. A group with several award-winning restaurants is opening a luxury Modern Japanese fine-dining venue there in mid 2027, inside a prestigious new development.
The next useful step is understanding the job. You lead the kitchen together with the Executive Chef, who comes from a family line of Japanese chefs in Osaka. You plan menus, keep every section running well (sushi, robata, omakase, à la carte and private dining) and handle the commercial side, from purchasing to rosters. The group asks for a leader who is confident and humble at once and who treats every cook with dignity, with no room for intimidation. Sponsorship of a visa is considered for exceptional international candidates.
