Key Responsibilities
- Prepare food and cook meals that meet a high standard
- Keep each dish consistent in quality, portion size and presentation
- Follow the kitchen's food safety and hygiene steps and finish the cleaning tasks
- Help out with stock control, ordering and rotating stock
- Keep the kitchen clean, safe and properly organised
- Reduce food waste and help daily operations run efficiently
- Work well with teammates in a busy kitchen and assist with prep and service when it is needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Cook or chef experience from a previous job
- Good understanding of both food safety and kitchen operations
- Can keep meals consistent and high-quality
- Reliable, able to work under pressure, positive in attitude and strong in work ethic
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Happy to live and work locally, and to complete the pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery preferred (relevant experience may be considered instead of formal qualifications); Food Safety Certificate preferred
