Maintenance Mechanical Engineer

Visa sponsorship

Engineering · Wellington, New Zealand · Full-Time · $38.25 - $45.06/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored

Thinking about kerja luar negara with your rail or heavy-vehicle skills? Wellington, New Zealand, has several permanent, full-time openings for a Maintenance Mechanical Engineer with a worldwide rolling stock manufacturer, the company responsible for keeping the city's electric commuter trains in good order.

Expect a practical mix of work. One day you might be tracing an electrical or mechanical fault on an electric multiple unit, the next you could be servicing a passenger carriage or getting a unit moving again after an incident. Safety rules shape every task, rosters are shift-based and each week brings no less than 40 hours. Engineers coming from automotive, industrial, rail, mechanical or electrical work are the people it wants.

Candidates living outside New Zealand can apply. Thanks to its accredited status, the employer offers sponsorship support for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) to suitable people who bring rolling stock experience.

A useful next step is checking that your English CV names the depots, fleets or heavy vehicles you have worked on, alongside your trade certificate. Shape a rail engineering CV with Build AI CV and then send your application.
