Malaysian mining engineers with underground hard rock experience may find this permanent medium-term planning post worth a close look. It sits with a big Queensland zinc-lead-silver mine that has years of life ahead, where development, stoping, ventilation, backfill and services all have to line up across several working fronts.
Your focus would be the plans and schedules that carry the mine to its production and development targets, kept current and sharpened as conditions change. The post can be Brisbane based or site based. Visa sponsorship is available for suitably qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the mine plans and schedules
- Improve them continually so production and development targets are delivered
- Turn the Life-of-Mine and long-term strategy into medium-term sequences covering stope extraction, development timing, ventilation availability and infrastructure readiness
- Shape medium-term sequences so they can be handed on as short term plans
Requirements & Eligibility
- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related subject
- Hands-on underground hard rock mining background, preferably with time in mine planning, scheduling or technical services roles
- Working knowledge of mine planning and design software (e.g. Deswik, Surpac or equivalent) applied to development planning, stope sequencing and schedule analysis
- Solid grasp of underground mining methods, development needs and production sequencing
- Able to bring geological, geotechnical, ventilation and operational constraints together in workable mine plans, with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills for spotting planning risks and finding practical answers
