Tauranga has a full-time Support Worker opening for someone who is steady, trustworthy and good with people. You would join an established 24/7 team around one highly motivated client, helping with personal care, daily routines, work and family commitments, and keeping life active and independent. Day, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts are all part of the roster.
Overseas applicants requiring employer-supported work visas may be considered for sponsorship, subject to eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the client with personal care and everyday living, and keep established routines and schedules running
- Be a dependable part of a coordinated 24/7 support team, sharing important information clearly with colleagues
- Help the client with work, professional and family commitments and with travel when needed
- Drive and accompany the client to activities and appointments
- Offer companionship and positive social engagement while keeping professional boundaries and respectful communication
- Follow individual care plans and agreed support procedures, and adapt sensibly when needs change
- Use initiative to solve everyday practical problems
- Work rostered day, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts, including sleepovers as required
- Take part in role-specific training and keep attendance and support consistent
- Help create a safe, positive and respectful environment
Requirements & Eligibility
- Previous disability support, healthcare, personal care or community support experience is preferred
- Minimum NZQA Health and Wellbeing Level 3, or willingness to work towards it
- A valid driver's licence is essential
- Demonstrated reliability, professional conduct and a trustworthy, honest approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a positive and engaging personality
- Good common sense and practical judgement, and the ability to stay calm and level-headed when things change
- Strong personal accountability and the ability to work collaboratively within a 24/7 team
- Able to follow care plans, routines and instructions accurately
- A hands-on approach and a flexible attitude to changing schedules and support needs
- Available for day, afternoon and evening shifts, and for overnight sleepover shifts
- Available for at least two weekend shifts each month
- Able to work approximately 35 hours per week, across approximately 2–4 rostered shifts per week
- Willing to take training and build relevant support skills
- Committed to respecting the client's independence, privacy and priorities
