A growing care services organisation in Western Australia is looking for an experienced Accountant to take ownership of complex accounts receivable and financial reporting. The focus is NDIS and brokerage receivables, plus accounting support for the Support at Home function, from funding claims and reconciliations to month-end reporting and compliance.
It suits an accounting professional with strong attention to detail who works comfortably across finance and operational teams, and whose capability can be demonstrated.

Key Responsibilities
- Be the owner of NDIS and brokerage receivables, from quote and service agreement through to invoice, claim and collected payment
- Go through funding claims and chase down any that come back rejected, delayed or short-paid
- Match receipts to client accounts and reconcile funding payments and remittances
- Keep an eye on overdue balances and follow up debts
- Reconcile the receivables control accounts, investigate differences and post the journals and adjustments that result
- Provide accounting support to the Support at Home receivables team
- Assist with client budget reconciliations and tricky account queries
- Check services, funding arrangements, agreements and invoices with the operational teams
- Handle bank, balance sheet, general ledger and intercompany reconciliations
- Book accruals, prepayments, depreciation and similar entries
- Support month-end and year-end closes, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash-flow reporting
- Feed into management reporting and financial analysis, and assist with budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
- Support BAS, GST, payroll tax and other statutory compliance, and watch expenditure against budget
- Keep accounting records accurate with sound internal controls
- Suggest improvements to accounting systems, reporting and receivables processes
Requirements & Eligibility
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Professional accounting experience you can demonstrate
- A solid grounding in accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, payment allocation and reconciliations
- Hands-on month-end accounting, journals and financial reporting
- Working knowledge of Australian accounting principles
- Advanced Excel, plus experience of accounting and financial management software
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
- Careful, organised and detail-focused
- Clear written and spoken communication
- Can work independently while pulling their weight in a wider team
- Trusted to handle confidential financial information professionally
- Experience in NDIS, aged care, Support at Home or other government-funded receivables is highly regarded
- Quotes, service agreements and funding schedules experience is advantageous
- Knowing the SCHADS Award and Nurses Award is advantageous
- Payroll process and Employment Hero experience is advantageous
- A CPA or CA qualification, or progress toward one, is advantageous
- Able to satisfy Australian employment and applicable sponsorship requirements
