A busy trailer manufacturer in Brisbane, QLD is hiring a permanent, full-time Welder. The job is about more than laying beads: you would build trailers from the structural frame through to final system checks, fitting chassis parts and installing mechanical and electrical components along the way.
Sponsorship is available for suitable candidates. The team wants a hands-on tradesperson who can show real-world experience, reads drawings with confidence and keeps accuracy and consistency steady across every build, from the first tack to the last test.

Key Responsibilities
- MIG weld steel frames, chassis and related trailer parts
- Prep, position and put together fabricated trailer sections, after reading the drawings, welding specifications and measurements
- Fit chassis, suspension, brakes and other trailer parts
- Put in air, electrical and hydraulic systems where the build needs them
- Add accessories and custom trailer features
- Operate welders, hand tools and measuring gear correctly
- Check each weld, the dimensions and the quality of the finished assembly
- Test the installed systems before sign-off
- Report any non-conforming materials, components or workmanship
- Keep the shop safe and organised and work with production colleagues to keep jobs moving
- Deliver work to the required quality, safety and production standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years of practical welding experience, with genuine hands-on trade experience you can demonstrate
- Earlier trailer assembly or trailer manufacturing work
- Strong MIG welding capability on steel
- Comfortable reading and working from blueprints and technical drawings
- Competent with measuring equipment and workshop tools
- Hands-on knowledge of trailer chassis, suspension and braking components
- Experience with air, hydraulic or electrical trailer systems is advantageous
- Close attention to detail and consistent workmanship
- Reliable on attendance and production responsibilities
- A safety-conscious attitude in a manufacturing environment
- Welding certification is advantageous but not essential
