A busy restaurant in Newcastle, New South Wales is hiring Waitstaff who enjoy a fast dining room. You will look after your tables, carry plates with confidence, and keep orders moving between the floor, the bar and the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and keep the service professional from start to finish
- Take orders accurately, pass them on clearly to the right teams and use POS systems for orders and payments
- Run your assigned tables and sections and deliver food and drinks promptly, including running dishes at peak times
- Carry several plates safely
- Set tables before service and clear and reset them between sittings
- Help guests choose from the menu and drinks list, using what you know about food, wine and beverages
- Work closely with kitchen, bar and front-of-house colleagues
- Keep dining areas clean, tidy and presentable
- Handle customer requests professionally and pass on issues when needed
- Follow responsible service, workplace safety and hygiene procedures, and pitch in as part of a cooperative team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience in restaurant waitstaff or food and beverage service
- A relevant hospitality qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Proven ability to work well in a busy, high-volume restaurant
- A strong customer service mindset
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with fluent English
- Confident handling of several tables and sittings
- Able to safely carry three plates
- Current RSA Certificate
- Experience with computerised POS systems
- Wine and beverage knowledge will be highly regarded
- Professional grooming and presentation
- Reliable, honest and well-spoken, with strong attention to detail and the ability to remain composed under pressure
- Flexible availability across weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Willingness to contribute to a professional team environment
