A Sydney stone manufacturer is looking for an experienced Stonemason / Stone Fabricator to join a busy workshop. You would fabricate natural and engineered stone for kitchen benchtops and other applications, in a 100% wet-processing, water-fed operation that values pride in quality work.
The job is full-time, permanent and long-term, with an immediate start possible. Hours run Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 5:00pm and Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm. Overseas applicants are welcome here. Key Responsibilities
- Make kitchen benchtops and other stone products from natural and manufactured stone
- Cut, shape, polish and finish stone
- Laminate and mitre edges, producing clean mitred joins and a high-quality finish
- Read and interpret plans, drawings and measurements
- Work accurately and efficiently in a busy production setting with close attention to detail
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and company systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated stonemasonry and stone fabrication experience
- Has worked with both natural and manufactured stone
- Confident with laminating, mitring, polishing and finishing
- Can read and interpret plans and drawings
- Consistently turns out high-quality finishes, with strong attention to detail and pride in their workmanship
- Works independently as well as in a team
- Reliable, hardworking and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Physically able to meet the demands of the role, and holds a current driver's licence
- Holds or is willing to obtain a White Card
- Desirable: forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
- Preferred: 3+ years' relevant industry experience, although suitably skilled candidates with less experience will also be considered
