Canberra-based infrastructure construction work needs a Site Engineer for structural concrete and civil infrastructure projects around the ACT. Genuine site experience and sound technical knowledge are what count, along with the ability to look after engineering and quality requirements from first pour to completion.
You will work with project management and site delivery teams on quality assurance, technical coordination, construction planning and documentation, with room to grow toward senior site and project engineering responsibilities. Visa sponsorship support may be available for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities
- Run the engineering for structural concrete and civil infrastructure works
- Liaise with project managers, supervisors and construction crews on what the site needs from engineering
- Apply the project's quality assurance procedures and ITP requirements
- Process inspection requests, hold points and witness points, and keep construction quality records
- Compile lot documentation, conformance records and handover packs
- Document non-conformances and help close them out
- Check construction drawings, structural details, specifications and project requirements
- Raise RFIs and chase technical queries with clients, consultants and contractors
- Provide engineering support through reinforcement, formwork and concrete pours, and check that reinforcement is fixed as the approved drawings and specifications show
- Help with setout and verification of the works on site
- Compare progress with the project program and report possible delays
- Arrange the materials, plant and consumables that planned site activities need
- Take part in site inspections, coordination meetings and progress reviews
- Back up site supervision and construction crews with technical help
- Keep engineering, quality and project paperwork accurate, and help meet site safety and environmental compliance requirements
- Collaborate with head contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders to hit quality, program and delivery targets, and suggest process improvements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of Australian Site Engineer experience on structural concrete or civil infrastructure projects
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a Structural Engineering-related discipline
- Practical grasp of construction engineering and site delivery
- Solid knowledge of QA systems, ITPs, inspections and construction documentation
- Reads and interprets structural drawings and technical specifications
- Has managed RFIs, technical queries and non-conformance processes
- Clear written and verbal communication, plus good organisation and documentation
- White Card
- Current driver's licence
- Can obtain the ACT site inductions and project access clearances required
- Comfortable on active construction sites
- Professional, reliable and team-minded, with strong stakeholder communication and a willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Bridge construction experience is highly regarded
- Dam, spillway or water infrastructure experience is highly regarded
- Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 head contractors is highly regarded
- Reinforcement scheduling, procurement, fixing supervision and quality control experience is highly regarded
