Rail fleets in Brisbane need a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer. The post is aimed at people who know rail vehicle electrical systems, fleet upgrades and engineering assurance well, and who can review technical solutions and oversee large modification programs.
Working alongside specialist engineers and project teams, you will make sure each delivery stage meets tough safety, quality and operating standards. Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead on electrical rolling stock engineering projects
- Assess engineering designs, overhaul paperwork and technical submissions
- Co-ordinate engineering activity across contractors, project managers and specialists, making sure electrical requirements are met right through delivery
- Support programs that modify, refurbish and improve the reliability of the fleet
- Run engineering inspections, testing, commissioning and acceptance
- Write engineering specifications, scopes of work, procedures and technical reports
- Investigate equipment faults and design practical engineering solutions
- Keep watch on engineering quality, compliance and project performance
- Work with maintenance teams, suppliers and operational stakeholders, and explain complex technical information in plain terms
- Support continuous improvement that raises safety and asset reliability
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Extensive background in rolling stock or rail vehicle electrical engineering
- Strong knowledge of electrical system modifications, upgrades and overhaul programs
- Experience leading engineering investigations, testing and commissioning
- Able to produce technical documentation, engineering specifications and scopes of work
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Current unrestricted driver's licence
