Commercial roofing and cladding projects in Hamilton need steady hands that can measure, cut and fix accurately. This Roofer role suits experienced roofers, and construction workers with transferable skills, who want to work on large-scale projects with modern roofing systems alongside an experienced team.
You would install roofing sheets, underlay and flashings, work from drawings and keep safety front of mind, moving between project sites as needed. Experienced overseas Roofers may be considered for sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Take on commercial roofing installation and the related construction tasks
- Install roofing materials precisely to project requirements
- Cut and measure materials to fit around penetrations, vents, corners, ridges and other details
- Install and secure edge and ridge flashings
- Position waterproof sheets and underlay properly and fix the underlay with the right methods
- Align starter sheets before you begin, then fasten roofing sheets securely with correct overlaps
- Read drawings, specifications and site requirements, and work out the materials the job needs
- Work with modern roofing, cladding and architectural systems
- Keep finish and workmanship consistent, inspecting completed work and fixing installation problems
- Watch for hazards, follow site and workplace safety procedures and use tools, equipment and materials safely
- Work productively alongside supervisors and other construction professionals
- Travel to project locations as required and keep your work area tidy and safe
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven roofing experience is preferred
- Commercial roofing or cladding experience is highly regarded
- Construction workers with transferable trade skills may be considered
- Measure, cut and install roofing materials accurately
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Practical understanding of construction site safety
- Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset
- Good practical and problem-solving skills
- Team player with a reliable and committed approach to employment
- Physically capable of roofing and construction duties
- Willing to learn new roofing and cladding techniques
- Willing to travel between project sites when required
- Overseas applicants must satisfy applicable New Zealand employment and immigration requirements
