A Perth hospitality business seeks someone to take the reins as Retail Manager. It suits a motivated hospitality professional with real leadership and business management skills who enjoys running a busy store.

Day to day you steer store performance, develop the team, protect customer service standards, keep inventory and finances in check and see that workplace and food safety rules are followed. Suitable overseas applicants are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of the business each day and direct the store floor
  • Follow sales results and profit closely
  • Hold labour spend and running costs to budget
  • Draw up and manage rosters for the team
  • Hire, induct and train new employees
  • Coach and mentor the team and manage individual performance
  • Set the tone for customer service, taking enquiries and settling complaints with professionalism
  • Track stock, order supplies, run regular stocktakes and cut wastage
  • Keep suppliers on side
  • Read sales reports to find gaps, then act on strategies that lift revenue and efficiency
  • Keep food quality, presentation and service the same from shift to shift
  • Look after workplace health and safety, and follow food safety regulations and company policies
  • Keep business and operational records accurate
  • Drive growth for the business and develop the people in it

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years of full-time work as a Retail Manager, Café Manager or in a comparable hospitality management role
  • A track record running a high-volume hospitality or retail operation
  • Led a team of 10 or more employees
  • Experience drawing up staff rosters and controlling labour costs
  • Inventory control and purchasing experience
  • Strong financial management and sales analysis skills
  • Excellent leadership and people management abilities
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to solve problems and make sound business decisions
  • Experience using POS systems and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
  • Available for weekends, evenings and public holidays
  • A relevant qualification in Hospitality, Business or Management is advantageous
  • A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is desirable, and a First Aid Certificate is also desirable
  • Hospitality POS system experience is an advantage
  • Experience opening new stores or managing multiple locations is advantageous
