Key Responsibilities
- Keep the restaurant ticking over from open to close
- Supervise the front-of-house crew and spell out what good service looks like
- Coach new and existing staff so standards hold steady
- Draw up rosters, cover staffing gaps and watch how labour hours are used
- Keep the floor and the kitchen in step with each other
- Look after guests through breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Respond to customer questions, feedback and complaints
- Take care of reservations and bookings
- Watch stock, inventory and the restaurant's paperwork
- Feed ideas into menu development, seasonal changes and better ways of working
- Make sure the venue stays clean and presents well
- Check food safety, licensing, WH&S and workplace compliance
- Partner with management on improving processes and team performance, and set the example yourself
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant diploma and/or minimum two years of full-time restaurant management experience in a relevant role
- Proven ownership of restaurant operations
- An employment history relevant to the position that can be verified, backed by evidence of earlier professional experience
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Confident verbal and written communication
- Good organisation and time management
- Experience with rostering and coordinating a workforce
- Understanding of labour costs and restaurant cost control
- Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills
- Stays organised and effective during busy service periods
- A professional, reliable and accountable approach to work
- Genuine interest in hospitality operations and team development, plus the ability to keep service, presentation and cleanliness consistent
- Must meet applicable sponsorship and visa eligibility requirements
