A busy Christchurch restaurant needs a Restaurant Manager who can run the floor with confidence. This is a permanent full-time position for a hospitality professional with real leadership experience, someone who sets clear service standards, supports a mixed local and international team and keeps the guest experience steady from the first booking to the last table.

Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of how the front-of-house performs day to day, and set service standards your team can follow
- Guide, coach and give honest feedback to a mixed team of local and international hospitality staff
- Run the restaurant's opening and closing routine, including the daily cash-up
- Keep bookings and reservations in order, and keep guests moving smoothly when the room is full
- Contribute to rosters and staff scheduling alongside management
- Report to the Directors and General Management, and stay in regular contact with them
- Put workplace policies and procedures into practice, the same way every shift
- Notice when service slips and sort it out quickly
- Make guests feel welcome so they come back, and back ideas that lift satisfaction and revenue
- Serve alcohol responsibly and meet the licensing rules that apply
- Set a calm, professional tone in the venue
- Help management make the operation run more efficiently and consistently
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a restaurant manager, or in a similar senior hospitality position
- Experience you can demonstrate in managing front-of-house operations
- A proven record of leading, training and developing hospitality employees
- Good grasp of busy, multi-sitting restaurants, and of handling guest flow well in busy trading periods
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A mature, professional way of managing people
- Strong customer service and relationship-building ability, plus working knowledge of hospitality service standards
- Sound understanding of liquor service and licensing compliance
- Strong decision-making and organisational skills
- Stays calm and effective under pressure
- Willing to learn the venue's products, systems and procedures
- Flexible availability for evenings and weekends, able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week across 5 days
- Genuine hospitality employment experience that can be verified
