Key Responsibilities
- Lead care staff together with the Clinical Manager, keeping care safe, effective and appropriate
- Plan care interventions from a full assessment of each resident's needs and share them with staff, residents, families and the multidisciplinary team
- Reach positive outcomes for residents according to care plans and safe working practice
- Provide person-centred care that supports independence and honours dignity and privacy
- Monitor residents' condition, report changes and follow up appropriately
- Carry out initiatives that maintain or improve care and quality of life
- Act as an advocate so residents can make informed choices
- Prepare assessment and care information for funding claims
- Handle shift handover with other registered nurses
- Respect confidentiality and dignity at all times
- Keep medication management, infection control and Work Health and Safety practice safe and effective
- Join accreditation audits and keep daily work compliant
- Work with the Clinical Manager on resident outcomes and care plans
Requirements & Eligibility
- Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (essential)
- Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in aged care
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team in aged care
- Up-to-date understanding of aged care sector issues and accreditation standards
- Able to lead, delegate effectively and contribute to positive care outcomes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound problem-solving and organisation
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and basic to intermediate computer skills
