Auckland has a full-time Registered Nurse role in a premium residential aged care home, where clinical quality, resident dignity and care shaped around the individual come first. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe nursing that is tailored to each resident
  • Carry out thorough clinical assessments and regular health observations
  • Draw up and update personal nursing care plans
  • Keep clinical documentation accurate, complete and timely
  • Watch for changes in residents' health and escalate concerns promptly
  • Protect residents' dignity, independence, comfort and quality of life, building trust with them and their families
  • Work alongside care assistants and other healthcare professionals, giving care assistants clinical guidance and mentoring
  • Promote best-practice care procedures and take part in quality improvement
  • Keep clinical and service standards high, communicating clearly with residents, families and the care team
  • Use sound professional judgement in clinical and resident-care situations
  • Help build a culturally inclusive, respectful environment that follows professional, clinical and workplace standards

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Qualified Registered Nurse whose credentials can be assessed by the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate nursing experience; experience in aged care or medical nursing preferred
  • NZ Nursing Council CAP approval, or willing to complete the applicable registration pathway
  • Prepared to sit the New Zealand nursing registration assessment
  • IELTS or OET results that satisfy the English language requirements of the Nursing Council
  • Educational background that matches New Zealand Registered Nurse scope-of-practice standards
  • Must be able to show verifiable qualifications and work history, and the authenticity of qualifications, experience and supporting documentation
  • Careful clinical assessment and observation
  • Excellent written and spoken communication
  • Compassion and empathy towards older people
  • Works independently and collaboratively, with sharp documentation and attention to detail
  • Professional, confident and accountable, committed to quality nursing and continuous improvement
