Hobart has a place for a Registered Midwife who wants a supportive, private maternity setting. Midwives here sit at the centre of the care team, so your clinical skills and qualifications count. Expect to work alongside other healthcare professionals as you look after women and their families through pregnancy, birth and the weeks after.
This role is open to eligible applicants already in Australia, and those who need visa sponsorship will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
- Give midwifery care that is safe, respectful and based on evidence, from antenatal through intrapartum to postnatal
- Stand beside women during labour and birth, honouring each woman's wishes and care plan
- Monitor how mothers and newborns are doing, and raise any clinical concern with the right person
- Teach and reassure women and their families
- Lend a hand with newborn care, breastfeeding and the first steps of parenting
- Keep patient records and clinical notes accurate
- Team up with obstetric, nursing, neonatal and allied health colleagues
- Join clinical education sessions, develop professionally and help lift care quality
- Mentor student and graduate midwives when asked
Requirements & Eligibility
- Registered Midwife status with current AHPRA registration, and a recognised Midwifery qualification
- Experience delivering maternity care that you can demonstrate
- Firmly committed to woman-centred, evidence-based practice
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Keeps professional knowledge and clinical competencies up to date
- Time in birth suite, antenatal, postnatal or special care nursery is highly regarded
- Open to permanent full-time, part-time or casual hours
- Can satisfy Australian professional registration and employment requirements
