This Auckland opportunity puts a senior Project Manager in charge of building work that is technical, varied and visible. You would deliver construction, renewal, refurbishment or building-services projects for a client with several high-profile sites, keeping technical needs in step with commercial and operational demands.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the client's lead on large physical works projects
- Set project scope, resources, budgets, programmes and delivery approach, then lead the team, contractors, consultants and stakeholders
- Control costs, schedules, risks and quality through to the final outcome
- Oversee construction and renewal in working facilities without breaking continuity
- Check technical and building-services requirements, coordinating the electrical, mechanical, structural, fire and water-related trades
- Keep every project compliant with regulation and building rules
- Handle stakeholder communication and expectations, and produce accurate project and financial reports
- Keep contractor and consultant performance under review, along with contracts and project documents
- Work through technical and delivery problems while running several projects at once
- Share what you know to build up the team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Senior-level project management background in construction or building settings
- Track record of delivering complex projects from planning to completion
- Solid grasp of building construction and renewal works, plus technical knowledge of building services and critical systems
- Experience running projects in complex or publicly accessible facilities preferred
- Working knowledge of New Zealand building regulations and compliance requirements
- Understanding of NZS 3910 contracts
- Commercial and financial awareness, with excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making, and the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred
- A professional history that can be verified
