A growing construction business in Queensland wants an accomplished Senior Project Engineer to own project coordination, give sound technical guidance and help deliver complex civil construction works. This is a permanent position on a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster, based in Brisbane.
You will work with the Project Manager and site teams, keep programs and budgets under control and make sure the work built matches the drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Steer the engineering side of major civil construction projects
- Back the Project Manager in getting projects delivered safely, efficiently and within the agreed timeframes
- Make sure what is built matches approved drawings, specifications, budgets and project requirements
- Build, monitor and update project plans, programs and construction schedules
- Advise project teams and site personnel on technical and engineering matters
- Review civil, structural and services drawings
- Spot technical issues and take queries through to resolution
- Help procure and engage subcontractors and suppliers, and keep tabs on their performance, costs and deliverables
- Sequence construction activities so works follow the approved programs
- Keep quality requirements and quality control procedures on track
- Help manage project costs and budgets, including monthly financial reports and cost-to-complete forecasts
- Identify risks, construction issues and likely delays
- Liaise with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders
- Set the tone on site safety across everything the project does
Requirements & Eligibility
- Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 7 years' engineering experience in civil infrastructure or construction
- Has helped deliver major civil projects
- Solid understanding of civil construction methodologies
- Reads civil, structural and services drawings with confidence
- A track record of managing technical queries and resolving engineering issues
- Sound knowledge of construction planning, scheduling and sequencing
- Has managed subcontractor and supplier budgets
- Understands quality assurance and quality control systems
- Commercial and project management awareness, with excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety at work
- Able to work a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster
- Relevant Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship
