A commercial bakery in Dubbo, New South Wales is hiring a Pastry Chef or Bakery Assistant who can show real experience with cakes, pastries and production-scale bakery equipment. The focus is on your practical skills, qualifications and a work history that can be confirmed.
This position is open to applicants already in Australia. Eligible candidates may be considered for sponsorship under the Orana DAMA.

Key Responsibilities
- Measure out and prepare the ingredients for cakes, pastries and other bakery lines
- Run mixers, ovens, dispensers and the other production machinery
- Check baking and production runs so every batch matches
- Keep production flowing in an orderly, efficient way
- Stick to the recipes, production procedures and quality standards
- Apply food safety, hygiene, GMP and HACCP in daily operations
- Keep work areas spotless and hygienic during production
- Clean and care for bakery machines and equipment
- Safely handle loads of up to 25kg, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling products and materials, and support the bakery team to hit production targets
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hands-on time in a commercial bakery, pastry or food-production setting
- Able to prepare and produce bakery or pastry products
- Baking or food-production qualification is advantageous
- Working knowledge of commercial food safety and hygiene, plus an understanding of GMP and HACCP principles
- Can operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently
- Close attention to product quality and consistency
- Comfortable working in a production-focused team
- Physically able to handle loads of up to 25kg
- Currently residing in Australia
- Can supply evidence of relevant qualifications and work experience
