Key Responsibilities
- Assess accident damage to vehicle bodies and decide how to repair and restore them
- Take off damaged panels, components and body parts
- Mend panels, or replace them where necessary
- Straighten, align and restore body structures
- Weld and handle metalworking jobs
- Use specialist panel repair tools and workshop equipment
- Liaise with mechanics and spray painters so completed repairs come together
- Inspect repairs for accuracy, safety and quality of finish
- Keep the workshop safe, clean and organised and follow all workplace health and safety procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant panel beating experience
- Solid practical knowledge of automotive body repair techniques
- Hands-on use of professional panel beating and repair equipment
- Able to spot damage and choose suitable repair methods
- A careful, quality-focused approach with attention to detail
- Good communication and ability to work in a team
- Can work efficiently to workshop timeframes
- Valid driver's licence, and a qualification and employment history that can be verified
