An established motorcycle dealership in Brisbane wants a mechanic who can diagnose, service and repair bikes with confidence. Expect a mix of scheduled servicing, fault finding, mechanical repairs and testing the machine once the work is done, all under professional workshop and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track down mechanical and electrical faults using suitable testing and diagnostic equipment
  • Look over bikes for faults, wear and upcoming maintenance
  • Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to the manufacturer's requirements
  • Strip, check and rebuild engines and other mechanical assemblies
  • Replace or repair worn and faulty parts
  • Service and fix brakes, suspension, steering and transmissions
  • Handle engine services, oil changes, lubrication and tune-ups
  • Work from technical manuals and manufacturer procedures, and pass on technical findings clearly
  • Test and adjust after each repair to confirm how the motorcycle performs
  • Log repairs, services and parts used accurately
  • Keep the workshop tidy and safe, and jump in on urgent repairs and breakdown work when asked

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Motorcycle Mechanical Technology qualification, or an equivalent trade qualification
  • Minimum two years of industry experience in a relevant role
  • Hands-on motorcycle servicing and repair experience
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability on the mechanical side
  • Working knowledge of motorcycle engine, electrical, braking, suspension, steering and transmission systems
  • Able to use motorcycle diagnostic and workshop equipment
  • Able to read and follow technical manuals and manufacturer specifications
  • A track record of accurate, quality workmanship
  • Able to provide evidence of relevant qualifications and employment experience
  • Solid grasp of workshop safety procedures, and able to work both independently and in a professional team
