A specialised maintenance team in Western Australia needs a qualified Mechanic with real hands-on skill and a solid work record. You will keep fleet vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) used in aviation operations safe and serviceable, which means more variety than a conventional workshop and plenty of diagnostic and breakdown work.
Sponsorship is available for suitable overseas candidates who meet the required trade and employment criteria, and those who need it may be considered based on qualifications, experience and overall suitability.

Key Responsibilities
- Look after fleet vehicles and specialised mechanical equipment through regular servicing, inspection and upkeep
- Track down faults in mechanical, diesel and hydraulic systems and fix them once the cause is clear
- Handle planned preventative maintenance as well as corrective repairs
- When something breaks down, get to it and deal with the urgent work
- Take on Ground Support Equipment and other specialised fleet assets, checking their condition and flagging likely problems early
- Finish every repair to the safety and quality standards required, using the workplace, operational and aviation safety procedures
- Write clean service and maintenance records, and report on completed work, faults and any further repairs
- Be comfortable working solo while keeping the wider team informed, and pitch in on breakdowns, servicing and repairs
- Look after the tools and equipment you use
- Present yourself professionally to clients and site personnel
Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Approximately 5 years or more of relevant industry experience preferred
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical experience with light or heavy vehicles
- Experience with heavy equipment or fleet maintenance advantageous
- Current HR Driver’s Licence
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Practical trade experience that is genuine and can be shown
- A dependable, professional attitude, whether you are on your own or in a team
- Close attention to safety and quality, and good organisational and communication skills
- Able to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and to pass drug and alcohol screening
- Diesel mechanical experience advantageous
- Hydraulic systems experience advantageous
- Breakdown maintenance experience advantageous
- Welding skills advantageous
- Ground Support Equipment or aviation-sector experience advantageous
- Ability to work in a specialised, safety-critical operating environment
