Key Responsibilities

  • Start up and run the packaging and production machines, keeping safety first
  • Get machines ready for each run, including set-up, product changeovers and fine adjustments
  • Stay with the line during production and react quickly if performance slips
  • Spot stoppages, faults and odd machine behaviour, then work out the cause with your mechanical know-how
  • Handle cleaning, lubrication and routine upkeep
  • Keep an eye on product quality and on how the equipment is running
  • Record production figures and complete the paperwork the job needs
  • Work within food safety, quality and health and safety procedures
  • Pitch in with packaging, kegging, warehousing and finished-product movement
  • Be part of installing, commissioning, testing and optimising new automated machinery
  • Find ways to reduce stoppages and keep production moving
  • Own the performance and condition of the equipment you are given

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A minimum of 2 years in machine operating or manufacturing
  • Hands-on history running production or industrial machinery, in a role such as Machine Operator or Production Operator
  • Sound mechanical knowledge, with the troubleshooting skills to match
  • Comfortable setting up machines and making precise operational adjustments
  • Quick to recognise equipment faults and trace what caused them
  • Some experience with basic mechanical maintenance and equipment care
  • Puts workplace safety and production quality first
  • Careful and detail-minded when checking machines and finished products
  • A practical, hands-on way of working
  • Works well alone and takes ownership of how machinery performs
  • Curious about automation, modern machinery and production technology
  • Packaging, canning, bottling, food or beverage production experience is advantageous
  • Can provide evidence backing up your machinery and production experience
