Perth has a full-time opening for a Blaster Painter with proven hands-on skills in abrasive blasting, surface preparation and protective coatings. A growing coatings business in Western Australia is behind it, and it wants a tradesperson who knows good finishes depend on good prep and who works safely and carefully. Sponsorship is available for suitable candidates who meet the experience, verification, performance and eligibility requirements, and current 482 visa holders may be considered for a visa transfer.
List the blasting and coating jobs you have completed, the systems you have applied and tickets such as a White Card or forklift licence. Then write an industrial blaster and painter CV on Build AI CV for your application.
Key Responsibilities
- Blast a variety of industrial products and surfaces
- Prepare surfaces to specification ahead of coating and confirm they are ready
- Apply epoxy, urethane and other protective coating systems
- Run blast pots, compressors, spray gear and related tools, setting them up properly
- Watch each coating job for even coverage and finish
- Spot and report problems with surfaces, coatings or equipment
- Clean, maintain and check blasting and coating equipment
- Deliver quality work within project timeframes, using steady practices on every project
- Observe safety procedures, industry requirements and Australian Standards
- Cooperate with supervisors and fellow tradespeople in a tidy, safe work area
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years’ real, hands-on experience in abrasive blasting
- Industrial blasting and protective coating background that you can demonstrate and verify
- Proven surface preparation quality
- Practical record of applying industrial protective coatings
- Sound grasp of how blasting, preparation and coating processes fit together
- An eye for detail, pride in workmanship and a steady commitment to workplace health and safety
- Dependable, with a professional approach
- Comfortable alone or in a team, and physically able to handle demanding industrial conditions
- Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application is valued highly
- AMPP/NACE or other recognised protective coatings qualifications are valued highly
- A Forklift licence and White Card are also valued highly
