Heavy Vehicle Technicians in Melbourne, VIC: if your strength is diagnosing and repairing trucks, there is a place for you in an established operation. Work can be in the workshop, on scheduled servicing or out in the field as mobile service, so versatility counts.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy commercial vehicles
- Trace mechanical, electrical and diesel faults to their cause
- Repair heavy vehicle systems once the fault is found
- Check over trucks, trailers and their components
- Run diagnostic equipment and mechanical tests
- Attend breakdowns and complete corrective repairs
- Work across different truck brands and customer fleets
- Take workshop jobs or field service call-outs as they come
- Keep service and repair paperwork accurate and current
- Follow workplace health, safety and quality procedures, and look after tools, equipment and service vehicles
- Cooperate with fellow technicians and supervisors
Requirements & Eligibility
- Essential qualification: Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Hands-on track record as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic
- Servicing, repair and diagnostic capability you can demonstrate
- A genuine, verifiable employment history in heavy vehicle mechanics, plus evidence of relevant qualifications and work experience
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Australian working rights appropriate to the position
- Sharp mechanical problem-solving ability
- Commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship
- Able to work independently and as part of a technical team
- Happy to work in both workshop and field service settings
