A heavy vehicle workshop in Geelong that puts quality first is expanding and needs a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic. It is a hands-on technical job for someone who is proud of their workmanship and likes working out what is wrong with a tricky vehicle.
You would divide your time between heavy trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles: servicing, repairs, diagnostics, maintenance and warranty jobs. The ad says suitable applicants may be eligible for visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Service heavy diesel vehicles and handle mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Track down complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults with the workshop's diagnostic tools
- Run preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Repair trucks, trailers and heavy vehicles, including warranty work when it comes up
- Work out what caused each fault and recommend the right fix
- Replace or repair mechanical and electrical components, then test the vehicle or equipment afterwards
- Make sure repairs meet technical standards
- Keep accurate records of the work you complete
- Follow workshop safety procedures and requirements
- Back up other workshop team members and keep the workshop clean
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- At least 5 years of practical heavy diesel mechanical experience
- Hands-on servicing and repair experience on trucks and heavy vehicles, plus a sound grasp of heavy vehicle mechanical systems
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience across several heavy vehicle brands is desirable
- Truck and trailer repair experience is highly regarded
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Strong safety awareness
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- HC Licence is desirable
- Automotive Air Conditioning Licence is desirable
