Key Responsibilities
- Be accountable for how the kitchen performs and how each day runs
- Lead, coach and bring on the cooking team
- Write modern, seasonal menus and put them into service
- Work Japanese techniques and Asian-inspired flavours into dishes where they suit
- Keep taste, quality and presentation at one steady standard
- Coordinate prep and service through high-volume trade
- Track food costs, stock levels and kitchen budgets, and manage ordering and supplier relationships
- Keep food safety, hygiene and workplace compliance in order
- Spot ways to make kitchen systems more efficient
- Build a positive, accountable team where every plate leaving the pass meets the house standard for quality and presentation
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven track record as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
- Demonstrable background in a modern, high-end or premium kitchen
- Japanese, Asian or fusion cuisine experience is highly desirable
- Strong evidence of kitchen leadership and team supervision
- Experience developing menus and seasonal food concepts
- Strong grasp of food safety and hygiene practices
- Experience managing stock, food costs and kitchen operations
- Strong communication and team development skills
- Able to perform effectively during busy service, with a high level of attention to detail and presentation
- Your professional experience must be supported by appropriate employment and experience documentation
