Key Responsibilities
- Provide hairdressing, barbering and beauty services within your own specialty
- Find out what clients want and advise on the best service
- Cut and style men's and women's hair, including blow-dries and hair-ups
- Colour hair, from roots and global colour to foils, highlights and lowlights
- Create balayage and ombré looks, tone hair and correct colour
- Offer keratin, nanoplasty, Hair Botox and other smoothing treatments where qualified
- Straighten, perm and carry out other chemical treatments where qualified
- Provide barbering and men's grooming where applicable
- Take care of threading, waxing, facials and other beauty treatments, as well as eyebrow and eyelash services (including extensions and tinting where qualified)
- Suggest suitable professional products and home-care routines
- Hold to strong hygiene, cleanliness and workplace health and safety standards
- Create a welcoming, professional visit and build long-term client relationships
- Present yourself professionally and work cooperatively with the salon team in a busy setting
- Stay current with technical knowledge and professional skills
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience is preferred
- Relevant industry qualification and/or demonstrable professional salon experience
- Technical ability that is proven for the position applied for
- Practical experience with modern hairdressing, barbering and/or beauty techniques
- Genuine hands-on industry experience you can demonstrate
- Strong communication, client consultation and customer service skills
- Professional, dependable and well presented
- Independent, yet effective as part of a team
- Strongly committed to quality, hygiene and professional standards
- Passionate about building a long-term career in hair and beauty
- Able to provide evidence of relevant qualifications and professional experience when required
- Current New Zealand work rights or eligibility to obtain an appropriate work visa
