A hands-on gardening job is open in Christchurch for someone who can show genuine experience keeping outdoor spaces in good order. It is more than ticking off tasks: the employer wants practical knowledge, careful handling of equipment and a consistent finish on lawns, gardens and shared grounds.
Mowing, trimming, pruning, planting and fertilising make up the regular work, and you may coordinate with internal teams and outside contractors.

Key Responsibilities
- Look after lawns, gardens, pathways and shared outdoor areas
- Do regular mowing, trimming and pruning, and general grounds upkeep
- Plant and fertilise as needed
- Run ride-on mowers, line trimmers and other gardening machinery
- Walk the grounds, spot routine maintenance needs and keep gardens and lawns to the expected standard of presentation
- Keep equipment and work areas in good order
- Liaise with internal teams and outside contractors when needed
- Work safely with tools, machinery and gardening equipment, and finish assigned grounds tasks reliably
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven practical experience in gardening or grounds maintenance
- Able to complete routine gardening tasks independently
- Experience operating ride-on lawn mowers and line trimmers
- Sound understanding of basic garden, lawn and plant maintenance
- Able to use gardening tools and machinery safely
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent work quality
- A reliable, responsible and professional approach to work
- Good written and verbal communication skills, and able to work both independently and within a team
- Availability for casual weekday shifts
- Must meet applicable New Zealand employment and sponsorship requirements
