Key Responsibilities
- Look after forklifts and related material handling gear: service, repair and maintenance, both in the workshop and at customer premises
- Use your know-how to pinpoint faults, run diagnostics and put proper fixes in place
- Perform planned preventative maintenance so machines stay safe, reliable and productive
- Respond quickly and professionally when customers need technical help
- Examine the state of equipment and report back with accurate assessments and recommended repairs
- Write up service paperwork and log every inspection, repair and completed job accurately
- Test and fine-tune machines until they run safely and efficiently
- Work with a strong safety mindset, complying with Australian workplace health and safety requirements
- Learn from experienced technicians and service teams, and grow your product and technical knowledge through ongoing training and mentoring while working with customers
- Keep tools, equipment and work areas safe and orderly, and show the organisation at its best through quality work, clear communication and customer-focused service
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience as a Forklift Service Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance Technician or similar technical role
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Heavy Equipment or a related discipline, backed by practical industry experience
- Minimum three years of hands-on experience servicing, repairing or maintaining forklifts and material handling equipment
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and technical troubleshooting ability
- Experience diagnosing faults and carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance
- Good English for dealing with customers and colleagues
- Proven commitment to quality workmanship, workplace safety and professional standards
- Able to supply verified employment history, qualifications and supporting evidence of skills
- Ability to meet applicable Australian visa sponsorship and skills assessment requirements, plus the motivation to put technical skills and industry experience to work in a professional environment
