This Wellington role suits a hands-on technician who already knows access equipment well. You will diagnose, service and repair elevated work platforms in the workshop and out at customer sites, keeping scissor lifts, boom lifts and cherry pickers safe and ready for work. It is a permanent full-time position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trace mechanical faults and repair Access/EWP machines, from scissor lifts and boom lifts to cherry pickers
  • Handle planned servicing and preventative maintenance, whether the machine is in the workshop or on a customer's site
  • When you spot a mechanical problem during an inspection, suggest the right fix
  • Be the technical contact for customers and for people inside the business
  • Write up each service, inspection and repair so the records stay accurate
  • Make sure every machine you touch meets safety and operating requirements
  • Move comfortably between equipment types and between workshop and field jobs
  • Deal courteously with customers and colleagues, and keep learning the company's equipment range

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Mechanical Engineering, Machinery or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience when it comes to diagnosing, repairing and maintaining machinery
  • At least 2 years' direct experience with Access/EWP equipment
  • Hands-on petrol and diesel machinery experience that you can demonstrate, with strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Documents that prove your relevant qualifications and employment experience
  • A full and valid driver's licence, and basic computer skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable working on your own in field service
  • A real commitment to workplace safety and professional standards
  • Eligible to work in New Zealand or able to qualify for an appropriate work visa
