A technical service business in Sydney is looking for an Electrician / Electrical Field Service Technician to look after customers running commercial catering and foodservice equipment. It is a good fit if you like working beyond routine installs: finding out why equipment has failed and fixing it reliably at the customer's site.
Expect a mix of site visits, fault diagnosis, repairs, testing, commissioning and customer support, and a chance to build specialised Australian industry experience alongside a professional service team. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible and suitably qualified applicants.

Key Responsibilities
- Service and repair electrical equipment used in commercial catering and foodservice
- Work out why equipment has failed and trace the electrical fault
- Use test instruments to check components and circuits
- Replace or repair defective electrical parts
- Do wiring work and equipment modifications within your licence
- Attend customer premises for breakdowns and scheduled servicing
- Test after repair to confirm safe operation
- Install and commission new commercial equipment
- Support customers and fellow service staff on technical problems, including telephone and email enquiries
- Help assess warranty claims and investigate service issues
- Stay with each service job from diagnosis to completion
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to resolve technical issues
- Source and organise the parts needed for repairs, and help with equipment assembly and electrical preparation
- Record completed service work, repairs and parts used clearly
- Lend a hand in the workshop and warehouse when required
- Represent the service team professionally with customers and observe electrical safety rules and workplace procedures
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised electrical trade qualification
- Relevant electrical licence, or eligibility to obtain the licensing required
- Proven practical electrical fault finding and diagnostics experience
- Solid grasp of circuits, wiring, controls and electrical components
- Demonstrated track record repairing and servicing electrical equipment
- Experience across commercial, industrial, appliance or electro-mechanical equipment
- Commercial kitchen or foodservice equipment experience is advantageous
- Able to diagnose and resolve technical faults independently
- Previous field service or mobile technician experience is highly regarded
- Strong analytical and practical problem-solving
- Professional communication and customer service, working well with technicians, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers
- Good organisation and job-management
- Reliable, safety-conscious and quality-minded
- Gas-related experience or licensing is advantageous
- Forklift experience or licence is advantageous
- Current Australian driver's licence or equivalent
- Genuine supporting evidence of qualifications and relevant work experience
