A rooftop bar in the Christchurch CBD needs an experienced Duty Manager to run the floor from Tuesday to Sunday. Service is full table service, with sharing plates and fresh seasonal dishes, so whoever leads the shift must keep guests happy and the team moving.
The position is permanent and full-time with a minimum of 30 hours, built around rotating closing shifts. That means evenings and weekends, and Friday and Saturday evenings are non negotiable. Immediate starts are available and sponsorship is available for the right candidate. The owners want a small, committed team and back it with regular training and room to grow.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests, take reservations and answer customer enquiries
- Deliver table service, covering orders, up-selling and payments
- Lead from the front and keep customers satisfied
- Act as the main contact for functions
- Keep front of house costs and overheads on target against KPI's
- Build and monitor the front of house roster so it stays within KPI's and targets
- Run front of house training and look after team culture
- Order stock and do the monthly stocktake
- Handle opening and closing procedures
- Keep the venue safe, healthy and legally compliant
- Contribute to new drinks and menu development, including recipes, costings and marketing
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum three years bar experience
- Cocktail experience at high volume
- Valid LCQ and current Duty Managers Certificate
- A warm, welcoming and positive personality
- Drive to succeed and the ambition to grow and develop
- Passion for the industry
- Happy to work evenings and weekends (Friday and Saturday evenings are non negotiable)
