A specialist equipment services business in Newcastle is looking for a Crusher Fitter / Boilermaker with solid mechanical, hydraulic and equipment maintenance know-how. You would service and repair crushing, processing, quarry and mining equipment, diagnose faults and attend customer sites, in the workshop and in the field.

Key Responsibilities
- Service and maintain mobile and fixed crushing and processing plant
- Identify equipment faults and decide what needs repairing
- Carry out mechanical repairs, scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Trace hydraulic faults with schematics, manuals and technical information, and run pressure and flow tests
- Fault-find 12V and 24V electrical control systems, reading electrical schematics and checking voltage and continuity
- Inspect equipment and prepare it before delivery
- Work to OEM specifications and approved maintenance procedures
- Go out to customer sites for servicing and technical support, whether metropolitan, regional or remote
- Travel to regional sites as the job requires
- Note equipment condition and recommend remedial work
- Write up technical service and condition reports
- Keep accurate records of inspections, repairs, settings and tests
- Take photos of completed maintenance and repair work as evidence
- Deal directly with customers on equipment problems and completed jobs
- Work safely in the workshop and in the field
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade qualification in Fitting, Boilermaking or a comparable mechanical trade
- At least 2 years of post-training industry experience
- Proven background on quarry or mining fixed plant
- Relevant hands-on time with crushing and processing equipment
- Demonstrable track record in mechanical maintenance and repair
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and how to diagnose faults, including reading hydraulic schematics
- Able to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Able to do basic electrical testing on 12V and 24V systems
- Trade employment history and experience that you can demonstrate and verify
- Full unrestricted C Class Driver’s Licence
- HR Licence is desirable
- Forklift Licence is desirable
- Physically capable of manual, field-based work, and willing to work across metropolitan, regional and remote locations
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screening
- Strong problem-solving on the mechanical side
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Good communication and customer service skills with customers and site teams
