A professional healthcare catering kitchen in Melbourne is looking for an experienced Cook. Key Responsibilities
- Cook meals from approved recipes and menu requirements, meeting each patient's dietary and nutritional needs
- Plan food preparation across breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Keep food quality, presentation, consistency and portion control high
- Follow food safety, hygiene, infection control and kitchen safety procedures
- Finish preparation within the required production and service times
- Check food storage and rotate stock properly
- Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic
- Work closely with the catering team and adapt to changing operational needs while holding service standards
- Help patients have a good experience through dependable, quality food
Requirements & Eligibility
- A record of professional Cook experience in commercial kitchens, healthcare, aged care, hospitality, or catering
- Hands-on knowledge of commercial cooking and food preparation procedures
- Solid grasp of food safety, hygiene, and safe food handling, backed by relevant food handling or food safety qualifications
- Reliably follows recipes, menus, dietary instructions, and workplace procedures
- Keeps pace in a busy kitchen and hits strict service deadlines
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ready for rotating shifts that include weekends and public holidays
- Professional approach, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail
- A sincere interest in supporting patient wellbeing through quality meals
- Able to satisfy applicable employment, work-rights, reference, criminal history, and health-related pre-employment requirements
