Two Climbing Arborist places are open in Tauranga with an established tree care crew that works across commercial, rural and home properties. Jobs run from regular pruning and crown reductions to technical removals and bigger projects, and the crew prizes tidy work, a safe plan for every job and keeping healthy trees standing where that makes sense.

Sponsorship is available for suitable overseas applicants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Climb and work as a professional arborist on commercial, rural and residential sites, from pruning and reductions to technical removals and large commercial projects
  • Pick the climbing, rigging and dismantling approach that fits each tree and site, and run aerial and ground-based tree work safely
  • Run specialist arboricultural machinery and equipment when the job needs it
  • Read the site, then stick to the work plan and safety procedures
  • Work carefully near buildings, infrastructure, retained vegetation and other site assets, protecting trees and vegetation wherever reasonably possible
  • Look after your climbing gear, tools, machinery and PPE to a professional standard
  • Team up with the ground crew and other arborists to finish jobs efficiently, and answer emergency and callout tree work
  • Keep safety, reliability and quality consistent on every job

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Level 3 or Level 4 Arboriculture qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Proven record as a climbing arborist, with competent aerial climbing and tree work skills
  • Hands-on rigging and technical removal experience
  • Able to run climbing operations independently on suitable jobs
  • Strong grasp of safe arboricultural work practices
  • Class 1 driver's licence essential
  • Class 2 or heavy transport licence advantageous
  • Physically fit for demanding outdoor tree work
  • Reliable, honest and professional
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Willing to take on further arboricultural training where required
  • Must meet relevant New Zealand work visa and employer requirements
