Key Responsibilities

  • Cook and plate dishes to the house standard for quality and presentation, keeping flavour, portions and presentation consistent
  • Handle daily prep and mise en place to suit service demands, working from recipes, methods and procedures
  • Stay productive through busy services and adjust as kitchen priorities shift
  • Back up senior chefs and teammates so service runs smoothly
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
  • Keep prep areas, equipment and stations clean and in order
  • Inspect ingredient quality, store food correctly, rotate stock, limit waste and help maintain kitchen stock levels
  • Contribute to a positive, professional workplace

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant commercial kitchen experience
  • Can show confidence working in a professional kitchen
  • Qualifications and employment history that can be verified
  • Practical grounding in food preparation and commercial cooking techniques
  • Serious about food quality, hygiene and presentation
  • Stays organised and productive under high pressure
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with reliable attendance and a strong professional work ethic
  • Willing to work weekends and public holidays
  • Must currently be based in Sydney
  • Must satisfy applicable Australian immigration and sponsorship requirements
