Key Responsibilities
- Cook meals to set standards of quality and presentation and coordinate prep for each day's service
- Work across a diverse pub-style menu
- Prepare and deliver daily and seasonal specials
- Keep portion sizes, flavour and presentation consistent
- Prepare and store food in line with food safety requirements
- Keep the kitchen orderly, hygienic and well organised
- Help with stock rotation, inventory control and ordering
- Check ingredient availability and cut unnecessary waste
- Coordinate with kitchen colleagues during service and talk to front-of-house staff for smooth meal delivery
- Help develop the menu and offer new dish ideas
- Back up other kitchen staff and stay productive and professional in busy periods
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience as a Chef in a commercial hospitality kitchen
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Practical knowledge of modern food preparation and cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards
- Able to manage multiple kitchen tasks while keeping quality up, and stay calm and efficient during high-volume service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
- Positive, dependable and professional work ethic
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Willingness to contribute to the wider operation of the kitchen
