Key Responsibilities
- Cook Asian dishes to set recipes and quality standards, drawing on solid knowledge of Asian cooking techniques
- Organise and coordinate the daily prep and cooking schedule
- Help plan menus and estimate food and labour costs
- Check dishes for quality, consistency, portion size and presentation
- Prepare sauces, ingredients and the other components needed for service
- Order food supplies and manage them to the kitchen's needs
- Run commercial ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Hold correct cooking temperatures and food handling standards
- Apply workplace hygiene and food safety procedures every shift
- Cook for special dietary requirements
- Raise kitchen issues and preparation concerns with management
- Work closely with kitchen and service teams
- Show colleagues suitable cooking methods and help train kitchen team members when asked
- Assist with food preservation, freezing and storage where needed
- Keep the kitchen workspace clean, organised and efficient
- Report quality problems and suggest practical improvements
Requirements & Eligibility
- A formal cookery qualification and/or a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience
- Professional experience preparing Asian cuisine
- Genuine hands-on cooking skills you can demonstrate
- Strong understanding of commercial kitchen operations
- Able to reproduce dishes consistently from established recipes
- Experience maintaining food quality and presentation standards
- Understanding of food hygiene, food safety and safe kitchen practices
- Able to work effectively within a structured and high-performing team
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to follow instructions, procedures and established kitchen systems
- Reliable and dependable, with professional and ethical conduct at work
- Able to communicate clearly with managers and colleagues
- Stays composed and productive during busy service periods, and willing to take responsibility and contribute to operational improvements
