Key Responsibilities

  • Look after an allocated kitchen section, from preparation through to service
  • Send out dishes that meet the standard for quality, presentation and portion control every time
  • Work with the senior chefs to keep the kitchen running smoothly
  • Share ideas on menus, specials and using seasonal, locally available produce
  • Coach and support the junior cooks day to day
  • Keep food handling, cleanliness and kitchen hygiene to a high standard and follow food safety procedures and workplace requirements
  • Watch ingredient and stock use, and pass on what needs restocking
  • Prepare for busy services, functions and special events

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional training
  • Demonstrated experience as a Chef de Partie or in a comparable professional kitchen role
  • Experience in a busy or high-volume hospitality environment, and the ability to keep quality and consistency up during busy service periods
  • Strong practical cooking and food preparation skills
  • Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance standards
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Able to supervise or support junior kitchen team members
  • Good time-management and organisation skills
  • A creative approach to food preparation and a genuine commitment to quality
