Canberra has 2 openings for Chefs or Cooks in a small, experienced kitchen serving European and modern Australian dishes. It is hands-on work: you cook across the kitchen and confidently run your own section during service. The employer wants qualifications, experience and technical skills that can be clearly shown and verified. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Cook European and modern Australian food at a consistently high level
- Run an allocated section during service and help other sections when needed
- Complete daily prep quickly and accurately
- Keep presentation, portion control and quality steady
- Work well in the small kitchen team and keep busy services smooth
- Stick to established recipes, preparation methods and kitchen standards
- Track stock and ingredient use to cut food wastage
- Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness and workplace safety
- Be dependable across evening, weekend and split-shift services
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher; a relevant trade qualification in Commercial Cookery
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in modern Australian or European cuisine
- Experience in a fine-dining or quality-focused commercial kitchen; Chef de Partie or section-level experience is highly regarded
- Strong all-round cooking and food preparation capability
- Able to run a kitchen section independently
- Shown ability to maintain food quality while controlling wastage
- Solid grasp of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures
- Works well in a small professional kitchen team and is available for evening, weekend and split-shift rosters
- Qualifications and employment history must be genuine and verifiable
