Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals to the kitchen's established standards
- Handle daily food prep and mise en place, including prep for lunch and dinner services
- Follow recipes so every plate comes out consistent
- Help with menu and recipe development when needed
- Juggle several cooking tasks in busy service periods
- Check food quality, presentation and portion control
- Keep your workstation clean, organised and hygienic, applying food safety procedures
- Work closely with the wider kitchen team during service
- Finish prep and cooking on schedule and adapt to changing priorities
- Keep performance steady in a high-volume kitchen and help with general operations when asked
Requirements & Eligibility
- Professional experience as a Cook or Chef
- Proven commercial kitchen experience, including busy, high-volume hospitality
- Able to deliver consistent food quality under pressure
- Sound knowledge of cooking methods and food preparation
- Able to follow recipes and kitchen procedures accurately
- Strong organisation and time management
- Reliable and professional about workplace responsibilities
- Communicates and works well with a kitchen team
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and passion for food preparation and hospitality
- Able to work weekends, early mornings and late-night shifts when required
- Previous multi-venue hospitality experience is advantageous
- Relevant culinary qualifications and/or substantial industry experience
- Able to meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements and take part in the candidate verification and assessment process
