Key Responsibilities
- Show the way during everyday kitchen service
- Cook and plate modern dishes at a steady, high level
- Draw on a broad set of professional cooking techniques
- Keep flavour, look and portion size on target dish after dish
- Work in step with the team during service and pitch in on prep, production and planning
- Keep the pace and flow going when volumes are high
- Watch the quality of food and preparation
- Stick to food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures, leaving a clean, organised kitchen
- Assist senior chefs with running the kitchen and help build a positive, cooperative team that aims high
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Minimum 1–3 years working in a commercial kitchen
- Have worked as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef or in a comparable position
- Strong cooking theory and hands-on kitchen skill
- Experience cooking quality modern cuisine
- Efficient and consistent under pressure
- Strong communication and team-working skills, with good organisation and time-management
- Professional presentation and a dependable work ethic
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and OH&S requirements
